Hosting a quest party is definitely different to hosting any other party, so what can you expect when running your own quest party?
When creating a quest for your child party, you must decide on the person who will ‘host’ they will be needed to become part of the story and tell it to the children during the quest. (Don’t worry, there are cue cards so you never need to think on the spot!)
This person will:
Read the cue cards that tell the story which outlines each activity
Provide guidance along with supervision throughout the puzzles and activities - if the questers get stuck you can step in to help.
Be excited and enthusiastic about the successes!
A quest party would be difficult to complete if you are the only adult in attendance. It is usually good to have at least one other adult on hand to help with the children’s other requirements, allowing the host to focus on guiding the quest, the other adult(s) can help with sorting the food and dealing with drink requests, toilet needs, etc.

Those are all practical expectations of the quest, but what about the enjoyment?
Well… all I can say there is something quite different about hosting a Quest Adventure for a party. The imagination and magic that comes from the children is something else, if you imagine the way you might feel after succeeding at an escape room but with an added layer of innocent imagination that makes them want to complete the quest over and over again!
So yes, you have to be prepared, and yes you may have to put yourself out there a little, but the rewards are amazing!
