Cerro Aconcagua
Cerro means 'Hill' in Spanish. Cerro Aconcagua is definitely more than a hill. Standing
at 6,962m above sea level, Cerro Aconcagua is the highest mountain outside the Himalayas.
Lying on the border of Chile and Argentina, rising high on the Andes Mountain range, Cerro
Aconcagua is not only famed as one of the icons of the appraised Seven Summits circuit but
notorious for its tough terrains, presenting all types of challenges on ice, snow and rocks.
It also has one of the most extreme and unpredictable weather patterns. Each season, climbers
from all over the world attempt its summit with only 30% success rate. Climbers that had
ended up in serious injuries and even death often underestimated Aconcagua. The extreme
cold, stormy winds and altitude make this Cerro a serious undertaking. Those who wish to
stand at its summit should have good climbing techniques, excellent fitness, considerable
experience, and most importantly, a lot of enthusiasm, perseverance and a positive attitude.
