12 Days High Atlas Circuit ( Ouirgane National Park & Mt Toubkal Ascent Trek )

The region of Ouirgane is home to many small Berber villages and it is the most breathtaking part of the Atlas Mountains. Here, the gentle summer breeze ensures that summer is cooler in Ouirgane than in the cities and even the winters enjoy a moderate climate. The hills and valleys are littered with dense, untouched forests, fruit orchards carry the gentle fragrance of lime, grapefruit and orange into the air, and the gardens are a sea of roses.

Visitors to Ouirgane not only experience the lifestyle of a true Berber village, but taste traditional cuisine and marvel at the majestic scenery and panoramic views. The best way to explore the landscape is either on the back of a horse or donkey, or on foot.

Many visitors come here to hike through the Toubkal National Park and Mount Jbel Toubkal, which at 4 167 meters is the highest summit in North Africa.

Day 1	Singapore - Casablanca - Marrakech
Day 2	A day tour of the famous pink city of Marrakech with visit to places of interests like the Majorelle Garden, given by Yves Saint Laurent as a gift to the city of Marrakech, and Sa'adian Tombs.
Day 3 - 9	7 days of trekking through juniper & redwood forests, Berber hamlets, terraced fields and walnut groves culminating into the ascent of the higest peak in North Africa - Mt Toubkal at 4,167m.
Day 10	Spend a free and easy day back in the famous pink city of Marrakech to explore the labyrinth of souks in the medina for your souvenir shopping or simply just soak in the sights and aroma of the Jemaa el Fna.
Day 11 - 12	Marrakech - Casablanca - Singapore

While this circuit takes you to the most scenic part of the High Atlas mountain range, it is also a trekking trail that is marked with stark winding paths and steep zig zag slopes of scree (small stones) with many ups and downs of 300m to 1000m through the valleys. The ascent on the 6th day is the most challenging walk. Expect not just an extreme climate of strong wind and cold temperature, the summit trail is also rugged, rocky and famous for its long, steep and endless zig zag slopes of scree. Snow covered grounds at some parts can add to the challenges of the summit trek by making the path slippery and dangerous. The descend is equally steep and challenging, if not more, after the body is already worn out by 6 days of long hours of walking and the trek to the summit.
