11 Days Samtengang Trek

Bhutan, known to her people as ‘Druk Yul’ (Land of the Thunder Dragon) has never failed to mesmerize her visitors. She is as much known for her awesome landscapes and architecture, as for her rich and colourful cultural heritage. Land-locked and surrounded by the Himalayan mountain range, the awe-inspiring valleys and mountain passes, sprawling glaciers, stupendous waterfalls, crystal lakes, deep gorges and vast undulating flower-studded meadows will take anyone’s breath away and offers great opportunity for trekking.

Samtengang trek is one of the low altitude treks in Bhutan. It is a three to four days trek and with altitudes from 1,500 to 2,650 metres. The trek is also a cultural trek, passing through the villages of Punakha & Wangdi region, rhododendron and oak trees forest, paddy fields, monasteries and lakes. In March, the Rhododendron flowers will be in full bloom.

Day 1
Singapore - Bangkok.  Overnight in Bangkok.
Day 2 Bangkok - Paro - Thimphu.
Day 3 Spend the day visiting the places of interest and exploring Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan. Visit a local school.
Day 4

Drive to Punakha, the starting point of the trek and spend the rest of the day exploring the valley.

Day 5 -8 Spend the next 4 days trekking through the beautiful Punakha valley and Wangdi area
Day 9 Punakha - Paro with homestay
Day 10

Day excursion to Taktshang Monastery and Drugyel Dzong. Catch the spectacular view of Mt. Jumolhari - one of the highest peaks in Bhutan.

Giving Back Program

A small token of each payment of this package will be given to sponsoring young monks from economically disadvantaged families awaiting formal enrolment in Monastic Schools in Bhutan. This small contribution is done through our local partner and in close collaboration with the Youth Development Fund founded by Her Majesty Azhi Tshering Pem Wangchuck to build funds for the youths of Bhutan. Under the project, these monks will be able to enrol and receive proper monastic education.
