10 Days Druk Path Trek - Bhutan's Classic Short Trek

The Druk Path is simply an excellent short trekking experience which follows the ancient high trade route between Paro and Thimpu.

You will walk for between four and five hours each day following a quiet forest trail and up to alpine yak pastures, once above the tree line you see the spectacular view of the Himalaya along the Bhutan - Tibet border including Chomolhari, Jitchu Drake and Gangkar Punsum.

You have several days visiting Bhutan’s main cultural sites.  Included is the chance to hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest) in the Paro Valley and take an excursion to the stunning Punakha Dzong, Bhutan's traditional winter capital.

Day 1 Singapore - Kolkata - Paro.
Day 2 Day excursion to Taktshang Monastery and Drugyel Dzong. Catch the spectacular view of Mt. Jumolhari - one of the highest peaks in Bhutan.
Day 3 - 7

Spend the next 5 days trekking through the beautiful valleys from Paro to Thimpu.

The first day's walk leads to the ruined Jeli Dzong which sits on a high ridge above the Paro Valley and commands breathtaking views across to Chomolhari. During the succeeding 4 days of trekking, we climb above the tree-line and cross several passes. Enroute, we camp beside clear mountain lakes, visit yak herders' encampments and enjoy splendid panoramas of the peaks on the border with Tibet, including Jitchu Drake (6989m) and Gangkar Puensum (7520m).

Day 8 Thimphu - Punakha
Day 9 Punakha to Paro. Visit Punakha Dzong. Drive to Dochula Pass for breathtaking views.
Day 10 Paro - Kolkata - Singapore
