Key Objectives of 9D Bhutan Travel Photography Workshop
Camera is a luxury item for many Bhutanese. Adventure Quests has made special arrangement for a portrait and class photo session with the students in a local school. Each child will be given a print of his/her portrait
as a keepsake of the treasured childhood.
In this travel photography workshop, capture the most scenic views of Bhutan at these valleys:
Paro:
The Paro valley is home to the Icon of Bhutan - Taktshang Monastery; also famously known as the Tiger's Nest Monastery. Willows trees line many of Paro's roads, contrasting with the bright green of the rice fields and the brillant white of the dzongs and temples, giving visitors a sense that they have entered paradise upon arriving at the international airport located in Paro.
Thimphu:
Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan, is a wooded valley, sprawled on the hillside on the west bank of the Thimpu Chuu. It is known as the only city in the world with just one traffic light. Every weekend, the locals gather at the Thimphu local weekend market to trade or socialise. It is also home to various famous monasteries like the Dupthob Monastery, which is a nunnery, and Tango Monastery, which is a residence for 200 monks.
Punaka:
The low altitude of the Punaka Valley allows for warmer climate and good weather for lush greenery and fruits cultivation, such as bananas and oranges. It is also where the Mo Chhu (mother river) and Pho Chuu (father river) joins to form the Punak Chuu.
About Paro Festival:
Paro Tsechu Festival is one of the biggest event in Bhutan. Like other Tsechu, it is held to honour Guru Rinpoche, who
helped spread Tantric Buddhism throughout the Himalaya region. The first day of the Paro Tsechu is typically held in the Rinphung Dzong and concludes with the unfurling of the giant Thongdrol in the pre-dawn hours on the last day. Mask dances and folk singing are a common sight during the festival.
